From the Baroque Hall, through the wide open door on the left, you catch a glimpse of a room so ethereal, the Florence Hall, dressed in a warm cream color, with a marble floor in shades of white and cream, harmoniously intertwined like a chessboard. The ceiling, laden with stuccoes, has been left white, with only a golden patina and occasional silver accents contouring the delicate shapes of the stuccoes. For those who don’t know, the ceiling of this room was completely demolished and a heavy slab was poured for strength. The rosette from the center of the ceiling was preserved, restored to its place after the consolidation work was completed. Most of the stuccoes were made in the Louis XV style, adorning both the ceiling and the side walls. Additionally, the walls of this room have been enriched with two niches made of plaster, giving a sense of depth.
The most valuable and oldest piece is the green terracotta stove, demolished and rebuilt piece by piece, so beautiful and imposing that it rightfully deserves the name of the hostess of this room.
And because it’s called the Florence Hall, furniture from the Florence area, expertly crafted by Italian artisans, beautifully adorns the translucent white walls. The console carved with gold leaf, overseen by an imposing mirror, guards the wall in front of the room.
